Community rules
Be the kind of person you'd want in your circle.
These are the rules of the road for people using Panalo Students. They are not a legal terms-of-service document; whoever runs a Panalo deployment should publish their own terms alongside them.
Who it's for
- Panalo Students is for students aged 13 and over. Under 18, a parent or guardian has to agree first.
- One person, one account. Don't use someone else's, and don't pretend to be someone you're not.
How to treat people
- No bullying, harassment, threats or hate. Disagree with ideas, not with people's existence.
- No sexual content of any kind, and never anything sexual involving anyone under 18.
- Don't share someone else's private information: their number, address, photos or messages, without their permission.
- No spam, scams or chain messages. Don't flood rooms.
- Don't use rooms or circles to pressure anyone into moving to another app, meeting up, or keeping secrets.
- Hosts: let in the people who belong, and use “only hosts post” when a room needs to stay on track.
Studying together
- Share notes and help each other — but don't share exam papers or answers you're not allowed to share, and follow your school's rules on academic honesty.
- Only upload files you have the right to share.
What happens if the rules are broken
A message can be removed, and an account suspended for a while or for good. Content that's illegal — especially anything sexual involving a minor — is removed and reported to the police.
When something goes wrong
- Block anyone, any time, from their ⋯ menu. They aren't told.
- Report a person or a message from the same menu. You can choose to include the message's text — otherwise nobody can read it, because messages are encrypted.
- The people who run this Panalo can remove content and accounts that break these rules.
- If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a trusted adult first. Reports aren't monitored around the clock.
